I don’t exaggerate, when I say that I have started this blog post more than seven times, only to delete and re-start. Every time I tried to find the words to describe Hiromi and Elvin’s wedding, I couldn’t find them. I don’t want to sound cliche, or overly dramatic, but this wedding was so amazing, that I simply don’t know where to start. It was the fairy tale wedding that any girl would dream off, beautiful church ceremony surrounded by your friends and family, two wedding gowns that were to die for, gorgeous details, elegant ballroom reception with salsa dancers, cigar rollers, amazing food and music, and to end the night, mariachis. But above all the decor, the highlight of the day was to see two people who have grown together and still love each other after so many years of them being together.
The day started with a voice mail from Kisha (aka wedding designer extraordinaire) asking me to arrive one hour earlier than originally planned; no big deal except that I had 30 minutes to get there. We basically flew to the Hilton, where the bride and groom were getting ready, only to find Jacqueline Weppner of Merci New York styling all the gorgeous details. I’ve always admired Jackie’s work for a long time, and to work besides her was the perfect way to start a fabulous day.
We have come a long way with Hiromi. During the last couple of months, we have followed her during her numerous visits to bridal stores looking for two perfect wedding dresses. During these trips, we have gotten to know her and her family, and it was such a wonderful moment when I saw her getting in her wedding gown. Jackie was there to help her get dress, and Hiromi looked absolutely stunning. I can’t leave behind the mastermind of this wedding, Kisha and her Pure Ambience Team, who created a stunning design and orchestrated a flawless day, where everything went according to plan. The ceremony took place at Newark Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ, followed by a fairy tale reception at the Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey.
The ballroom at The Venetian looked spectacular. Event design by Pure Ambience.
The cake by Cake Boss – Carlos Bakery was gorgeous.
