A few months ago, I came across a great photographer, Chelo Keys. Her work and her words inspired me very much, to the point that I found myself buying an old film camera from ebay, which I had never done. Earlier this year, I had vouched to document more of our personal lives, and film just seemed like the perfect medium to do that. It is romantic, and has a timeless look, and I just “needed” a film camera. Fast forward a couple of months, and I’m experiment with different film stocks with non other than Chelo. I called up the usual suspects, and we got ourselves a bridal photo shoot. Here is one from that day – Danny pulled the trigger on this one, as I was too short to focus.
Yadira and Ralph love NYC and the vibrancy of the city. They like fashion and wanted a modern shoot with an editorial flare. So, they chose a High Line Park Engagement and the Meat Packing district for their engagement photos. This was our first time at High Line Park, and I absolutely loved it.

There are weddings where things just fall into place. Everyone is on time, people are super happy, and brides keep their cool even when she breaks her shoes. Well, Erica and Mark’s wedding was such a wedding. From the moment, I walked in, and I saw her happy as a clam, I knew the day was going to be awesome. Of course, I have to thank Kisha of Pure Ambience for planning such a perfect day and timeline, and specially to Nadya for being such good sport.

Erica and Marc are high school sweethearts. They’ve known each other for a very long time. They have been together through ups and downs, and they are committed to spending the rest of their lives together. Their wedding is less than a month away, and they wanted to incorporate touches of the beach, which they love. Needless to say, this past Saturday, we headed to Belmar for a fun and relaxed beach engagement session. They are such a pleasure to be around that we know we will have an awesome time at their wedding.
Virginia and Mark have known each other since high school. He always had feelings for her, and they lost touch during college. After many years, Mark called her up, and they met again, and the rest is history. Two weeks ago, Virginia and Mark got married in a beautiful ceremony at The Estate at Florentine Gardens. The day started out overcast and with chances of rain, but we kept our fingers crossed, and they were able to have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony Virginia had always dreamed of. Everything about this wedding was beautiful and very well planned. From the gorgeous wedding gown Priscilla of Boston that Virginia wore, to the cute pens with wich they signed the marriage license, no detail was overlooked.
A big thank you to The Estate at Florentine Gardens for being so great to us and treating us kindly, specially to Maria and Nadia. And Congratulations to my lovely couple… you guys are awesome, and we are thrilled to have been there to document your wedding.

It’s no secret, I’m in LOVE with films. The lights go down, and for ninety minutes you are transported into another world. You cry, you laugh or scream of horror, but for that period of time, the world disappears, and you are submerged into the imagination of the filmmakers. The ultimate treat is coming out of the movies with the feeling that you just watched a great story. I can’t say when I started loving them, but I remember being a little girl and watching black and white horror movies every day even when I couldn’t sleep at night. Or begging my mom to let me rent a movie – EVERY DAY- as long as I got all As. Yes, I’m a film buff, and a very proud one. Luckily Danny is a film buff too, and together we remember film quotes or references that nobody can understand. We are known for watching films nobody else knows or watches, from all genres and countries. Our friends know us for that. In light of that, I would like to continue with my movie recommendation posts.
This week I’m recommending three great actors in three very different genres: Antonio Banderas, Paul Rudd and Bradley Cooper.
Foreign: “The Skin I live in” – by Almodovar. If you are an Almodovar far, you have to watch this film. If you are not an Almodovar fan, you better pass. This film is for serious film lovers as it is like non other.
Comedy: “My idiot brother” – This movie is seriously silly, and totally awesome. Great acting, amazing cast and totally unpretentious, it definitely became one of my favorite Paul Rudd’s movies.
Thriller: “Limitless” – With Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro you can’t really go wrong. Very good acting by Bradley Cooper, and a great story that will make you want to be Limitless.
Sotiria and Jay were married in New York City in an fun and cosy wedding. Yes, if I can say cosy with a 200+ guests wedding, but it’s true. Their wedding was exactly what they had wished for, and it started with a beautiful ceremony at the Greek Cathedral in New York City officiated by the Archbishop himself. The ceremony felt as solem as none other. A wonderful choir sang music by Palestrina, and it just made the day more magical. Then we headed over to Harvest on the Hudson for a fun, elegant and relaxed reception, which is exactly what Sotiria and Jay had invision. Harvest on the Hudson is a hidden gem in Hudson Valley New York, overlooking the Hudson River. It has a Tuscan look, and a serene feel; they even harvest their own food, which makes everything taste super yummy. I want to thank Regina and the amazing staff for being so nice and treating us like guests.
Congratulations to my awesome couple on their marriage. I think that just as you succeeded in planning a big wedding that felt intimate and where everyone felt included, we want to wish you a wonderful life together!!
