Documentary Photography – Shad Festival Lambertvile New Jersey
With a car full of gas, and no plans in sight, I posted a question on my Fabebook page. Where should we go? A friend John recommended we visit Lambertville, and to be completely honest, I had no idea of what would make this place so special to make a 90 minute drive. Another friend ditto the idea, and added that the Shad Festival was taking place. Again, I had no idea of what the Festival was all about, but I was curious to find out, so we made the trip. Upon arriving, I felt like I stepped into another world; a beautiful little town with beautiful colonial houses and streets filled with cherry blossoms. People were cordial, and the town seemed made for walking. So far I was sold.
I have to admit, I love street fairs and festivals. I love the idea of people of all ages and backgrounds gathering in one place like a community and ready for having a good time. I like the street vendors, the artisans, and the yes, the food. Even the dogs were happy here, and even them had treats made specially for them. Kids were also having a great time. There was face painting booth, balloons, music and even a small pool for fishing. So if you haven’t been here, you should totally come visit Lambertville. It’s really worth the trip.
