Crystal Ballroom Radisson Hotel NJ Wedding – Lauren and Luis Wedding Pictures

It was the second snow storm of the year; Danny was driving, and we could barely see the road. Good thing we left the house three hours prior to our starting time to give room to snow related delays. Just a few weeks before, we had had 22 inches of snow, and this one was not looking good. During the whole trip, I kept thinking how are we going to pull this wedding off, but luckily the skies cleared and the snowed stopped. By the time we arrived at Lauren’s house to take pictures and video of her getting ready, you could barely remember how the day had started. From then on, Lauren and Luis’ wedding day was a real blessing. A Truly lovely ceremony at St. Aloysius followed by a non stop music at the Crystal Ballroom Radisson Hotel in Freehold New Jersey made their wedding, a day to remember.

Lauren and Luis were married at St. Aloysius, an absolutely gorgeous church. And even though some of the church rules for photographers and videographers made our job more difficult, it is a truly remarkable place to get married. The church was still filled with Christmas decor that made the ceremony even more charming. All this accompanied by divine music from a Quartet.

I’m officially giving Lauren the award for the tidiest bridal room, ever. She had thought of every detail, and I love her for that. She wore a gorgeous wedding dress. Even the Coco Channel perfume and pearls were placed to add a touch of romance in her room.

Featured – Vow-Wow-Wow Wedding Blog Magazine

During the summer, I had the great joy of shooting Marcela and Eric’s wedding at the Summit Arboretum NJ. They had a charming and intimate wedding surrounded only by those closest to them, and among the lucky guests was their puddle dog Mona, who walked down the Aisle as part of the bridal party. This morning, I received wonderful news that their wedding had been featured on Vow-Wow-Wow Wedding Blog. For those of you who are not familiar with this incredible site, Vow Wow Wow is a delightful wedding blog with lots information and resources to help brides and grooms include their dogs as part of their Wedding ceremony and celebration.

I have seen very few people as committed as Marcela is to helping and protecting animals. She sincerely cares about them, and she is part of a group that helps place dogs with new mommies and daddies. I am sure, she will be thrilled to see her wedding featured in a blog that is committed to a cause so close to hers.

I want to extend many thanks to Celia Milton, one of New Jersey most prominent Wedding Officiants and also founder of Vow-Wow-Wow for reaching out to us.

Il Villaggio Wedding – Olivia + Carlos Wedding Pictures

A few months ago, I got an email requesting information about our wedding photography and videos, and the name struck me. At first, I wondered, is this a prank? But I immediately came back to my senses. Before, I could answered on pricing, style or anything, I had to comment. OMG, that is the name my daughter would have had – first and last name. Then, she said OMG your last name is just like my fiancee’s, and your husband is Cuban just like my parents. Could there be any more coincidences? Yes, Danny and her family come from the same town in Cuba. And just like that, we clicked.

I have been looking forward to photographing this wedding for a long time. Olivia is one of the sweetest brides I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She is beautiful inside and out, and I feel honored and blessed to have met her, her fiance and their beautiful family. The love you feel for one another pours out in every look and smile, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness. Thank you so much to the super talented Lauren iAvarone of Make Up Artistry for making her look so beautiful and radiant on her wedding day.

Olivia and Carlos married on New Year’s at Il Villaggio. Yes, they are a 1/1/11 couple, and their wedding marked our first wedding of the year. If they are a sign of the couples we will have this year, we will be truly blessed.

Top Wedding Trends I wish to see in 2011

Ok, I confess, I’m not very good at making New Year’s resolutions, and I’m even worse at keeping them. Some of my zumba dvds are still wrapped, with its original packing, not to mention that I nagged Danny to death until he got them for me as a Birthday present. So in lieu of a resolution list, I decided to create a Wish List. And since I breath and dream about weddings, I decided to make a Wedding Wish List. This is a list of things I wish would happen more often during Weddings in 2011.

1. First Look.
If I had to make just one wedding wish for 2011, this would be it. I love the First Look. It allows couples to have beautiful pictures without the rush. Because we are adding time to the timeline, they have more time to enjoy themselves, and their party.

2. Cut to the chase, and Cut the cake right after you enter.
If you are like me, you know that after cutting of the cake, the party is basically over, but wait it ain’t over till it’s over, so why not cut the cake right after the big entrance, with all the excitement. Later on, once the dance floor is packed, Mr. DJ won’t have to break the dancing to announce you are about to cut the cake. Hey, who needs cake when you are dancing to Lady Gaga. Well, maybe I do, but I rather eat it at my own pace.

3. Weddings that are on time.
Have you ever been to a wedding where you had to sit out in the sun during a hot summer for twenty minutes waiting for the bride to come. It’s no fun, right? So why do that to your guests. Why keep them waiting? Why torture the ones who are on time waiting for those who did not make it on time.

4. Brides who enjoy their weddings.
You have dreamed about this day forever, you wanted it to be perfect, and with the man you truly love, now please enjoy it. For brides who tell me they want photojournalistic pictures, please be happy. I need you to be happy because photojournalistic means documenting the day as it happens. Would it help if I sing Don’t Worry, Be happy?

5. Reception lighting.
I lOVE reception lighting. They make the room look beautiful and perfect.

6. Clutter free bridal suites and and bride’s room
When you imagine your getting ready pictures, you may picture yourself surrounded by your mom and closest friends, all happy and beautiful. So let’s make it happen by removing anything from the room that will take our attention away from this joyous moment.

7. The revival of the Wedding Planner.
My daughter is two, and Danny and myself have already decided that she will have a wedding planner. If you can afford it, why worry?

8. Don’t go bridezilla.
Remember that just because it’s your wedding day, it doesn’t mean you get a free pass to go Bridezilla. Relax, and if things don’t come up the way you wish them to be, remember Don’t Worry be Happy.

9. Day After Photo Shoot.
Day after photo shoot, also known as “Trash the Dress” or “Rock the dress” allows the best of both worlds. Not seeing each other before the wedding – First Look, but it still allows time for couples to have beautiful wedding pictures. This is the perfect option for those brides who truly don’t want to see their grooms before their weddings.

10. Party like there is no tomorrow.
As a wedding photographer, I get asked what is the one wedding trend for 2011, and I have to say to Partey.

Photography – 2010 Year in Review – favorite wedding detail pictures

As the year 2010 comes to an end, I went through the weddings I photographed throughout this year. And I was happy to revisit each wedding and relive the beautiful memories. So I thought I could share some of my 2010 wedding pictures. This post is dedicated to wedding details, and by that I mean: wedding and engagement rings, wedding flowers, bouquets, boutonnieres, wedding cakes, invitations, centerpieces and reception decor.

I love how each picture tells us in what season the weddings took place, spring, summer, or fall. Or whether it was a casual or ballroom wedding.

The Hotel Indigo NJ Wedding – B&W Wedding Photos – Tiffany + Bryce

Last week, we had the pleasure and honored of shooting another wedding for the Shamy Family. This time, is was Tiffany’s time. She had met her prince charming, Bryce, and was about to have her dream wedding, which she had been planning for twenty six years.

Tiffany expressed how important her wedding pictures are and was looking for photojournalistic wedding pictures with a little bit of New York flare. At the same time, she had basically memorized almost all pictures she had ever seen on a magazine. So here, I had to be extra careful to find the balance of getting her dream pictures, while capturing the unscripted moments.

TIffany and Bryce’s wedding theme was black and white, so for this blog, I did something I have never done before and that is to post only Black and White pictures to accomplish the New York photojournalistic style she was looking for. Note: All their pictures are in color, but for this post, I edited them in BW.

Tiffany and Bryce chose the Hotel Indigo, which is a boutique hotel in New Jersey that looks like it was taken out of Tribeca or Soho.

The Brownstone Wedding Photos | Courtney + Michael Wedding Photos

Courtney and Michael met through e-harmony. They arranged for a first date. Courtney is a hair stylist, and he would pick her up after work. But he had an exit strategy though. He planned to take a look and leave if he didn’t like what he saw, and as it turned out, he not simply loved what he saw, he knew She was the one.

Courtney and Michael are one of the most amazing couples we have worked with. Earlier this year, we headed to the shore to take their jersey shore engagement photography session, and they were a blast. On a perfect fall day, this wonderful couple married at the Brownstone in New Jersey, and they picked the most special date of the year to tie the knot 10/10/10. I was really looking forward for this wedding, and we were thrilled and honored to have been there to document your wedding day.
